What is the difference between a Psychosocial Recovery Coach and a Support Coordinator?

I am extremely flexible and understanding. I will work around your schedule.

A key distinction between a Psychosocial Recovery Coach and a Support Coordinator, is that a Psychosocial Recovery Coach specialises in Mental Health, drawing from both lived and learned experience with a focus on psychological recovery.

In contrast, a Support Coordinator assists you in identifying services and supports that you need, linking you to those services and supports, tracking your funding and assisting you with plan reviews.

A Psychosocial Recovery Coach can perform all the functions of a Support Coordinator, but in addition they offer services that are specifically designed and aimed at providing a psychological recovery-focussed service.

Your Psychosocial Recovery Coach will collaborate  with your care team to establish recovery goals and develop strategies to help you progress, even in the event that you experience complex Mental Health challenges or a crisis.

Understanding the episodic natures of mental health challenges, a Psychosocial Recovery Coach proactively plans to support you and your care team during a crisis.

A Support Coordinator will help you work towards your NDIS goals, a Psychosocial Recovery Coach focusses on setting personal, short term and specific goals.

People living with a Psychosocial disability can now access a Psychosocial Recovery Coach which is similar to a Support Coordinator, but the Psychosocial Recovery Coach is tailored to the unique challenges of a Mental Health recovery.

Mental Health is not a destination,
it is a process. It is about how you drive,
not where
you're going
